Criminal seems to share the same casting director who handles theatrical adaptations for DC Comics. While the film's cast represents quite the ensemble, many of the faces have been or will be involved with comicbook superheroes, including: Ryan Reynolds, Gal Gadot, Tommy Lee Jones, Gary Oldman, Antje Traue and Kevin Costner.

Now that we've seen the trailer for Criminal, we can only assume that Nicolas Cage is regretting that he turned down the role played by Kevin Costner. Cage was in fact the first individual offered a part in the film.

Kevin Costner Looks Tough with the High & Tight

While the trailer does a great job of showing off the impressive cast in Criminal, a few faces have been withheld including Jordi Mollà -- well, he gets a small, one-second blip -- Robert Davi and Antje Traue's

The details about Criminal have been so sparse that we don't even know the names of the characters that most the cast are playing. So, coming into today's trailer, we had no idea who to expect or who the star of the film would turn out being. We originally had our money on Ryan Reynolds, but looks like his character is just a collection of flashbacks to support Kevin Costner.

To add to our curiosity, this action-adventure looks to have a [strong] leaning toward the romantic genre that is far beyond a side plot. It's hard to say, but the music used in the trailer definitely suggests an emotional element.

There's just so much going on the Criminal trailer that we can't help but admit our interest level is at a 10. Pile on the visuals and the acting and it looks like Summit Entertainment has a box office hit here.

Our only last concern is Kevin Costner. I openly admit that I have a love/hate relationship with the actor. In some roles his acting is incredible, in others he comes off as a distraction to the story. As of right now, and based entirely on the trailer, we are predicting that for Criminal he is going to deliver.
