Teaser Trailer

The script for City of Lies found its way onto the 2015 Hollywood Blacklist. If you've never heard of this, it's a category of "most liked" unmade scripts of the year.

The role of Russell Poole, played by Johnny Depp, was almost played by Sylvester Stallone. While the difference of look sounds crazy, Depp's recent drop in popularity has hurt his ability to avoid reallife drama while taking on new roles.

Meh. Considering how strong the cast is and the reallife story that it's all based on, I'm surprised about how boring this first preview comes across.  There does seem to be a bit of cop on cop action -- sounds porn-ish I know -- but now I'm wondering if that was more creative license rather than the "real life" part.

Not sure what's off here, but definitely will be skipping this one in theaters.
