Stranded in rural Australia in the aftermath of a violent pandemic, an infected father goes on a desperate quest to protect his baby daughter.
This supernatural thriller is actually a feature length remake of a short film released back in 2013. That film was also co-directed by Ben Howling and Yolanda Ramke. The directors describe that the landscape was very important to the story, considering that the environment is just as likely to kill these characters as the disease. The film was therefore shot in Australia to drive that point home.
I am a big fan of Martin Freeman. Sure, The Hobbit was no Lord of the Rings, but he has still got it. I have been impressed by him in the Marvel films, and always look back to the first time I ever saw the actor. You know when that was? Love Actually. But I digress...
Freeman has two thrillers in the past year, with Ghost Stories and now Cargo. The actor, who has always had a super friendly vibe, has taken to the genre nicely.
