Devastated by a flood in his village of southern Romania, Costache Moldu is left alone to gather himself in the aftermath. The natural tragedy sweeps away his wife and his belongings, and Costache salvages what he can, soon coming back in touch with his son who's been living in Japan. Director Tudor Cristian Jurgiu articulates his tale through beautifully contained scenes, refined with an expert amount of exposition, as Costache and his son attempt to overcome the distance that has grown between them.
