Café de flore is an era-spanning epic tale of love, family and lovers. Skipping between Paris in the 1960s and contemporary Montreal, the film traces the destinies of Jacqueline (Vanessa Paradis), a young mother of a Down’s Syndrome child in 1960s Paris, and Antoine (Kevin Parent), a DJ in present-day Montreal. Connected by life-shattering moments of passion, which transcend their lives and times, they are near-mystically linked by love itself, with all its imperfections.
