This spring, producer Judd Apatow and director Paul Feig invite you to experience Bridesmaids. Kristen Wiig leads the cast as Annie, a maid of honor whose life unravels as she leads her best friend, Lillian (Maya Rudolph), and a group of colorful bridesmaids (Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Ellie Kemper) on a wild ride down the road to matrimony.

Annie’s life is a mess. But when she finds out her lifetime best friend is engaged, she simply must serve as Lillian’s maid of honor. Though lovelorn and broke, Annie bluffs her way through the expensive and bizarre rituals. With one chance to get it perfect, she’ll show Lillian and her bridesmaids just how far you’ll go for someone you love.

Bridesmaids, for me, ranks as one of the funniest movies of the last ten years. Some movies make you laugh, but Bridesmaids makes you laugh so hard that you cry, and your sides ache. Then you just about recover before another laugh comes.

Kristen Wiig leads the cast but really, each and every cast member here totally shines. Melissa McCarthy is pure genius as Megan, and her line at the end of this trailer makes me howl. Maya Rudolph is blissfully ignorant of the personal plights of all her bridesmaids, because she's getting married, so literally nothing else matters.

There are not enough words to express how great this movie is. Strong, female-led cast, a script that is funny as hell, and quality direction from Paul Feig all combine to deliver a fantastic film. Feig's gift for getting the best out of these women is evident, and confirmed by McCarthy's willingness to work with him on multiple projects.

Anyone who's been part of a wedding party, be it as Bridesmaid or Groomsman, will be able to relate to the never ending cycle of dinners, parties, dress fittings and bachelor parties that seem to be required. It'd be much more exciting a job if the bride or groom simply organized it all themselves and all you had to do was show up on the day.
