When Peter is a young boy he discovers that he is a piñata and that his mother crafted him out of cardboard and tissue paper. After being home schooled by his over-protective mother, Peter decides that he needs freedom and that a job is the perfect way to achieve that. Peter begins to work at a candy shop where he meets Sarah, a girl his age. They soon fall in love under the jealous eye of Frank, the manager of the candy shop. The story culminates with Frank and Peter’s mom trying to stop him from dating, yet Peter must ultimately decide what is right for him.
