Bots High is an exciting documentary about three high school teams battling for first place at the national robotics competition in Miami, Florida. It’s a no-holds-barred fight to the death with robot carnage everywhere you look.
Genius inventor Will builds robots so powerful they’re unstoppable… if only they don’t destroy themselves first. The Mechanical Misfits are an all girls team stumbling through their first foray into combat robotics and Elizabeth and Danielle are a formidable pair looking to reign supreme during their last year of high school.
In a field dominated by men, Elizabeth and Danielle are a deadly combination of beauty and brains, equally adept with a curling iron or a complex multi-axis computer aided CNC Mill. After last year’s near success, these two will stop at nothing to win – sacrificing school, relationships – even their friendship. For Elizabeth, winning means proving all the doubters wrong – her dream is to earn real respect for her talents, not just her fashion sense.
Will was born into the shadow of his father, a hugely successful engineer with countless patents and inventions to his name. He inherited his father’s mind but he struggles with finding focus and discipline. If Will is going to prove himself, he must overcome his own mind. And after he meets Elizabeth he’ll have to overcome his hormones as well.
Bots High follows these students as they design, build and compete at Nationals – all while surviving high school, first love and adolescence.
