In Boo! A Madea Halloween, Madea winds up in the middle of mayhem when she spends a hilarious, haunted Halloween fending off killers, paranormal poltergeists, ghosts, ghouls and zombies while keeping a watchful eye on a group of misbehaving teens.
Not exactly a surprise, but the entire film was shot in less than a week. Can you say "shotgun production"?
I'm not what you'd call a Madea franchise fan, so I assumed I'd hate this film from the word Go. But it looks like Tyler Perry has always hoped to be a Wayan, as this movie could have easily been released as another Scary Movie sequel.
The trailer for Boo! A Madea Halloween is all about two things: Selling the fact that the film is strictly a holiday spoof and, two, that Tyler Perry is hoping to beat out Eddie Murphy in his ability to play multiple roles in a film. Now, I hate to admit it, but I have a weakness for parodies and spoofs. With that in mind, I was surprised to find myself laughing during multiple parts in this trailer. Yes, it is incredibly stupid and, yes, there is a high possibility you could be burned out on Perry's characters and brand of humor, but at least this film is exploiting Madea in a genre that is a whole bunch more fun.
I have no intention of catching A Madea Halloween in theaters, but this could turn into a guilty pleasure once it begins airing constantly on HBO.
