Trailer for the documentary Beyond 9/11 - Portraits of Resilience.

Commemorating the tenth anniversary of the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, Beyond 9/11: Portraits of Resilience highlights transcendent stories of courage, survival and remembrance when the all-new documentary debuts Sunday, Sept. 11 at 8:46 a.m. (ET) - ten years to the minute that American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into World Trade Center One - on HBO. A presentation of TIME magazine in association with HBO, this moving film focuses on the previously untold stories, captured in words and images, of a group of men and women who led America, moved the nation and sacrificed for it, in the hours, days and months that followed Sept. 11, 2001.

As part of a multimedia TIME initiative, the full film will also be available on Sept. 11 on a variety of platforms, including HBO.com, HBO GO, HBO On Demand, YouTube, the HBO Facebook page and TIME.com. In addition, the film will be offered for free on multiple platforms by participating television service providers.

Beyond 9/11: Portraits of Resilience presents a memorable video collection of dramatic testimonials from U.S. leaders, firefighters, flight attendants, veterans, family members and survivors who miraculously escaped from above the impact zone of World Trade Center Tower Two. The power of the documentary, which is punctuated by archival photos and footage, comes from the faces and raw emotions of the interviewees, who are filmed in front of a white screen speaking bluntly and emotionally about the traumas they experienced, the losses they shouldered, and the resolve and support that sustained them over the past decade.

In addition to the documentary, the project includes a special issue of TIME (hitting newsstands Friday, Sept. 9) and a 112-page commemorative book, which feature photographs from award-winning photographer Marco Grob. There is also a special TIME.com website and a multi-media exhibit of photographs by Grob at New York's Milk Gallery. CNN will also be airing Beyond 9/11: Portraits of Resilience, along with their other anniversary-related programming.
