Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is a live-action re-telling of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs.
There have been several rendition of the classic Beauty and the Beast original film from 1991 including:
Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas (1997) - sort of a sequel
Beauty and the Beast (2014) - foreign live action adaption
Beastly (2010)
Emma Watson (Belle), Luke Evans (Gaston), and Emma Thompson (Mrs. Potts) share the same birth date of 15th April.
OK, this is definitely just a teaser trailer. They are holding back and not giving away too much too early, which may be a good thing.
We basically get a glimpse into what the inside of the castle will look like, we get to see a little bit of Belle (Emma Watson) and only hear the voices for Lumiere (Ewan McGregor) & Cogsworth (Ian McKellen).
Of course we do not get to see any sneak peek of how Disney is going to handle the fictional fantasy characters like the Beast, Mrs. Potts, Lumiere or Cogsworth in a live action film. Disney sure is putting a lot of their resources into these live action adaptions so only time will tell if what they are doing with this animated classic film will turn into something audiences love or something they hate.
