Razzies 2017: Batman v Superman, Zoolander 2 In Contention For Worst Films

2016 was an incredible year on many fronts, seeing the Chicago Cubs win the World Series and the Cleveland Cavaliers become NBA champions. All before Donald Trump won the presidency. The movie industry produced some classics that will go down in history - Deadpool, La La Land, Arrival, Moonlight and Captain America: Civil War to name but a few.

Yet the Razzies are a fresh reminder how awful some of the big releases have been and the leading contenders for 2017's worst picture indicate a drop in standards. DC wish they could have their time back again for two titles while Ben Stiller let down a classic franchise.

Batman v Superman Face to Face

Appearing in the categories multiple times, the Razzies have a habit of really laying on the stars who front the big disappointments. Stiller Could "Win" Big On Night Of The Worst

You won't find a lot of these categories at the Emmys or Academy Awards, and chances are you won't see Ben Stiller at those ceremonies taking home any gold trophies either. His ill-advised Zoolander 2 should have been kept as a concept, should these nominations be any guide.

WORST DIRECTOR Nominees:
Dinesh D’Souza and Bruce Schooley – Hillary’s America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party
Roland Emmerich – Independence Day: Resurgence
Tyler Perry – BOO! A Medea Halloween
