Logan, Get Out and Blade Runner 2049 Score Oscar Nominations

As host Jimmy Kimmel prepares to return to the stage that saw Warren Beatty wrongly award Best Picture to La La Land over Moonlight last year, the shortlist of contenders have been draw up in no less than 24 separate categories. The 90th edition of the Academy Awards will not be held until March 4, leaving filmmakers and studio executives time to make their case to the Academy.

Mexican Guillermo del Toro can consider himself a major winner even before the trophies are handed out, sweeping up no less than 13 individual nominations for his romantic science-fiction drama The Shape of Water. The blockbuster/superhero genre can consider themselves unfortunate that Wonder Woman received no recognition, yet Logan, War for the Planet of the Apes, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Kong: Skull Island and Star Wars: The Last Jedi are all vying for Best Visual Effects .

Here is the full list of nominees.
