Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder Pair Up For Romantic Comedy Destination Wedding

Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder have both enjoyed remarkable success over a sustained period of time, but they have also struggled away from the limelight. While these personal and private issues have harmed their career trajectory in some respect, they have both re-established themselves as A-list stars again in their own right, overcoming tragedy or scandal that could have buried lesser people.

Now the pair will reunite once more, this time for the romantic comedy Destination Wedding. For 52-year old Reeves and 45-year old Ryder, this will be film number four together after co-starring in 1992's Dracula, A Scanner Darkly and the 2009 romantic feature The Private Lives of Pippa Lee.

When Wedding Guests Go Rogue

Victor Levin is said to be the writer-director of the project with the studio Fyzz Facility producing Destination Wedding. This will cast Reeves and Ryder as two down-on-their-luck wedding guests who experience a mutual affection for each other.

Producer Robert Jones could not have been happier to have the two stars on board.

"The Fyzz is incredibly excited to work with Vic, Gail, Elizabeth and Cassian and to be a part of Destination Wedding. When comedy is seated in character and truth it's both funny and moving, and on that basis Vic's screenplay is one of the best I've read in a long time. Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves are wonderfully skilful actors and their chemistry on-screen truly brings these irascible characters to life. Their unswerving commitment to the project is a testament to both material and director."

History and Chemistry For Reeves-Ryder Team Makes This a Winner

Both actors have been on something of a hot streak of late, with Reeves fronting the incredibly popular action franchise John Wick via two blockbusters. Then there is Ryder, taking the "step down" to subscription television with her role as Joyce Byers in the world renowned Netflix smash Stranger Things.

Sunshine Pictures will have a share in this title as their representative Gail Lyon spoke in glowing terms about the team they have created for the comedy.

"Elizabeth and I have both known Vic a long time, and it's been our collective pleasure to work together, along with Cassian and The Fyzz, to bring this movie to life. Keanu and Winona bring a lot of history and chemistry to their roles, which adds a wonderful dimension to their performances and their dynamic."

Destination Wedding has yet to score a release date.
