With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 less than a month out, expect some positive Marvel-based updates to begin rolling in on the regular. So let's kick things off with the Guardians franchise. As a bit of good news for not only Marvel but the fans as well, director James Gunn has made it official. Wait, made what official? Well, we are definitely going to get a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. Of course. But, better yet, James Gunn will once again write and direct. Now that is fantastic news.
The director went on a bit of a rant on social media -- Facebook -- and opened with this question.
But the question that comes up perhaps the most is, “What’s the deal with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and are you going to direct?”
Great question! And here is your answer....
James Gunn Confirms Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 Involvement
Before I re-post what James Gunn had to say, I did want to point out one important aspect. And that is Marvel. Remember back when Marvel decided to become a movie studio and all the talent to first work with them complained about what hard-asses they were? Sticklers on budget and not exactly that open to creative challenges? Well, with success, it seems the studio has lightened up a ton. You will see Gunn (below) praise the studio for how great they are to work with. I guess when you're printing money, it's pretty easy to become a bit more laid back.
But onto the post!
Well, this week we start the U.S. press junket, before traveling to Europe at the end of the week. Of course I know some...
Couldn't be happier with Gunn's decision. So I guess that also means his brother gets to survive Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 as well? We should find out in a few weeks.
