Carrie Fisher’s Brother Confirms Leia Will Be In Star Wars 9 Without CGI Help

The passing of Carrie Fisher in late 2016 had many Star Wars fans in a state of shock, while considering the ramifications for the rest of the franchise. As her brother Todd Fisher told the New York Daily News this week though, General Leia will still be a key ingredient to the 9th edition. Despite any official announcement from either Disney or LucasFilm to confirm the assertion.

"Both of us were like, 'Yes, how do you take her out of it?' And the answer is you don't," Todd told the publication. "She's as much a part of it as anything and I think her presence now is even more powerful than it was, like Obi Wan, when the saber cuts him down he becomes more powerful. I feel like that's what's happened with Carrie. I think the legacy should continue."

Todd: Sister's Star Wars Legacy Is Of Biblical Proportions

Appearing at the opening night gala of the TCM Film Festival in Los Angeles, Fisher made the point that her scenes that have been shot deserve to be broadcast without interruption.

"I'm not the only part in that equation, but I think the people deserve to have her. She's owned by them. You don't mess with this legacy. It would be like rewriting the Bible. To me, Star Wars is the holy grail of storytelling and lore and you can't mess with it."

Having held back some of his personal stories with his late sister, Fisher explained that he will be making those public now that she is no longer around.

"Carrie and I grew up with a magical life, we really did, and there are a lot of stories to tell. Carrie and I actually wrote some things together. It's very likely that I'll get to those now sooner than I would have normally, because we didn't think the stories were going to end. Now that they've ended, the stories probably should be told. So there's some magic left in us and there are a lot of Carrie's words left unspoken that will be spoken."

Did Han Go Solo After Name Change From Ren?

Kylo Ren and Han Solo in Star Wars the Force Awakens

Reddit user Kuzefra has sent something of a shockwave around the Internet this past week, drawing a link between Han Solo's mysterious real name and a giant clue that was dropped on The Force Awakens. Here is the theory:

"Disney announced around March 23 that the Han Solo prequel movie will reveal Han Solo grew up with a different name and changed it to Han Solo later. Here is my speculation: The most shocking name Solo could have: Ren. Kylo wasn't choosing a new name, he was reverting to his traditional family name. That would surely cause conflicting feelings for Han."
