Aquaman Cast Party as DCEU Blockbuster Wraps Production

For many Hollywood stars, the fun begins after the camera stops rolling. There is no need to sit for hours on end in the makeup chair, practice stunts or remember lines of dialogue - it is simply time to party with the cast and crew.

Out on location in Queensland, Australia, Aquaman wrapped their production after 7 months of toil and hard work. Jason Momoa, Amber Heard and director James Wan all rejoiced on social media, building towards a December 21, 2018 premiere that should compete strongly at the box office.

Aloha to Aus as Jason Bids Farewell Down Under

With a fine bottle of red wine in hand, Momoa and Heard thanked each other and those involved in the shoot. Despite being close to his beloved All Black rugby union side just an hour south in Brisbane on the same night, his priority was to stay with his Aquaman colleagues to bring down the curtain on 114 days of this superhero adventure.

"The countdown begins," Momoa posted. "@guinnessus to start spaghetti for dinner and @penfolds till we burn our it down . Big mad crazy love to my MERA. @amberheard My rider we went through some heavy s*** mama. I'm super proud of you. Congrats. My crew and cast these awesome studios. Australia I f***ing love ya. Aloha j. Ps sorry I can't be at the game all blacks gotta wrap Aquaman. I know you'll win we always do. #allblackeveything #loveyouaustralia @villageroadshowstudios."

For Heard, she loved every minute of pairing her skills against the action star.

"Happy official wrap, aqua hubby!!! Loved working with you @prideofgypsies Amazing 7 months. Will miss all the laughs and madness you bring...."

Wan was equally delighted, leaving him time in his schedule to oversee the cuts, edits and changes that comes with a post-production.

"Holy mackerel, you scampi serious — that’s finally a principal photography WRAP on Aquaman!! Thank You to an awesome cast & crew."

Batman and Cyborg Struggle To Curry Favor With Aquaman

Justice League Aquaman

Before that extravaganza gets underway, Justice League will be the first time we get to see a fully fledged Aquaman strut his stuff. Talking with Total Film about the character dynamics, Momoa explained that Arthur Curry does not bond well with two leading figures.

"Me and Cyborg do not get along at all. I don’t trust him as far as I can throw him. Over time, that will change. It’s the same thing with Bruce (Wayne). I’m like, ‘Nah, I’m not buying into it."

Justice League official synopsis:

"Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions."
