Directed by Kenneth Branagh and based on the beloved book by Eoin Colfer, ARTEMIS FOWL follows 12-year-old genius Artemis Fowl, a descendant of a long line of criminal masterminds, as he finds himself in a battle of strength and cunning against a powerful, hidden race of fairies who may be behind his father's disappearance.

When people discuss this adaptation, the first term that comes to mind is that it is a "long-gestated" project. So what does that mean? Exactly like it sounds. It took Hollywood forever to adapt this story. So long in fact that the book's author, Eoin Colfer, joked that it would likely make its way to the cinemas a couple years after he died.

Not sure what to think here. Let's be honest. Save for the MCU, Disney has been struggling to find a box office hold -- or critical acclaim -- with heavy fantastical adaptations. Especially when they look over-targeted to the younger audiences.

The other risk is using a fairly unknown cast to take the lead, while the more recognizable faces will come in as supporting characters.

It is just a teaser trailer after all, so hard to hold any judgment with so much time before the theatrical release of Artemis Fowl, but we can't help but be curious about what's in store for the full trailer.
