Cassie (Rosemarie DeWitt) is a real estate agent and single mom struggling to keep it all together during the housing crisis of 2009. Her problems go from bad to worse when disgruntled client Sonny (Danny McBride) violently confronts Cassie's boss and then kidnaps Cassie -- making one outrageously bad, and bloody, decision after another.
Comedy represents the feature directorial debut for Jonathan Watson. While this is his first time taking the helm, the director does have a nice filmography as second unit director with films like 21 Jump Street and the HBO series Vice Principals. So now the question is who hooked up who. Did Danny McBride get the role and recommend Watson, or was it the other way around?
Like a comedic 99 Homes. Danny McBride looks more than comfortable in a dark comedy -- he does have a wee bit of experience in hostage taking -- and the supporting cast looks more than formidable. And who can't help but laugh when watching David Alan Grier ask who he just shot.
