In this beautifully and whimsically animated adaptation of the 2003 book by author and illustrator Sergio López Suárez, ten-year-old Anina Yatay Salas has a curious problem: all three of her names are palindromes, which has led to much teasing from her fellow students. After Anina gets into a fight with her classmate Yisel, the two girls are given an unusual punishment by the principal: each gets a sealed envelope and sternly told not to open it for an entire week. Anina’s overactive imagination conjures up all kinds of possibilities for what the envelope contains, but her anxiousness also eventually allows her to see Yisel in a different light, and brings her a better understanding of how complicated life can be both on and off the playground.
