In Roger Cantin's latest feature, A Cargo to Africa, two destinies intersect: Christophe's and Norbert's. Norbert (Pierre Lebeau) has spent most of his life in Africa doing humanitarian work, having left behind some suspicious history in Canada. Christophe (Julien Adam) is still very young, but he's already about as big a pain as you can imagine. When civil war breaks out, Norbert is forced to return to Canada, without papers or any desire to stay. In fact, he's determined to return to the Dark Continent as soon as possible despite the war, and plans to stow away on a cargo ship.
The catch? His pet Capuchin monkey, Trotsky, would not be likely to survive the trip.
