OUTSTANDING!! I've read every Holmes story that Doyle wrote, and from these trailers it would apear that the quirky essence of the character has been preserved. This update has been overdue for a long time, and I'm pleased to see Holmes as a relunctant "action hero".

I have been an avid Holmes fan for 20 years- and I simply cannot wait to see this! the introduction of a new facet to this character is long overdue, and although purists are going to scoff at this, anyone with some imagination should welcome and embrace this movie. I haven't seen anything in the trailers to make me think that this isn't going to be HUGE!

Looks enough like other movies to be familiar, yet dissimiliar enough to be original & interesting. I mean, where else have you seen angels with automatic weapons? The only thing it seems to be missing is Christopher Walken blowing kisses to fallen comrades thus setting them ablaze!

I've been a Trekker for 30 years, and I'm excited about this movie. Trek needs something different and this looks like a good direction. And keep in mind that budget constraints on TOS as well as a special effects industry trying to really figure out what special effects really could do, kept Trek from a more streamlined look.
