I really didn't want to like #3, but I did. I could tell from the outset that the plot was absurd, but somehow it worked in spite of that. This seems like the opposite case. The plot seems to make more sense, but it looks like it's given up every inch of the subtlety and distinctiveness that put the franchise on the map. But why should I expect it to be any different from any other horror franchise?
