Wait, how does this have anything to do with Akira? So, a teenager gets powers and loses control. Does it take place in Japan? Is he part of a biker gang? Are there little green kids running around? Does he turn into a massive monster that tries to devour the city at the end?
Saying that this is derivative of Akira because of two factors makes very little sense.
