To those of you who say that this is just a teaser trailer, which absolves it of a responsibility to a narrative, contrast it with the Batman Begins or Dark Knight teasers, both released earlier than 8 months before their respective movies. Both are visually restrained (particularly TDK) and manage to set up a strong narrative with around a minute's footage.
On the other hand, this Watchmen trailer takes twice as much time to make something that would be boring to anyone concerned with watching a good movie and not just a lazy, gimmicky waste of time that seems more bothered with showing us how wonderfully "faithful" it is than providing anything entertaining or interesting. Teasers are not "just for fanboys", and whoever thinks that the movie's "faithfulness" to the original will be determined by costumes rather than narrative quality.
