Yes, cheese, it does. But the apocalypse is heavy shit, and someone has to poke fun at it.

It seems like the closest we've ever come to an Evangelion movie. I can't tell yet if that's good or bad.

Whether you were replying to me or not, IHTC, trun is right. I was referring to the subtlty of the trailer, how it didn't exploit the comic book imagery until the end, allowing us to see them as people, as characters to be identified with, rather than crazy people flying around in costumes. As cool as a superhero movie is, a character piece is always better.
But I like your parkour comparison regarding that final sequence, that was a fine observation.

I remember Martin Freeman from his time as Arthur Dent. Here's another fine journey to follow him through.
Either way, I'm looking forward to it.

Looks like a stab at not ONLY arabic dictators. The beard says Bin Laden but the hair says Kim Jong Il. I think the Dictator is meant to be a parody of all those guys. He's following the example of Charlie Chaplin in this way. I hope it's just as funny, although Cohen can be a hit or miss.

It's not hard to beat the original GIJoe film, and at least the sequel trailer didn't make me want to vomit [motherfucking Wayans]. I only ever saw the first one as a nerd obligation [library rental, refused to pay for it], but this might actually be a movie. Not saying that I think it'll be good, but it ought to be better.

I dunno, maybe it's too early to call, but I remember that book, and it seemed like the world without the trees was bleak, grimy, and gray compared to the ecstatic colors of the forest where the Lorax lived. Ted's neighborhood is too colorful and optimistic, it doesn't reflect the mood of the book. They're softening the blow of the environmental theme, and that can't go unsaid.

Trailer for Pacific Rim.
When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes -- a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi) -- who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind's last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

Red band trailer for The ABCs of Death.
Twenty-six directors. Twenty-six ways to die. The ABCs of Death is perhaps the most ambitious anthology film ever conceived with productions spanning fifteen countries and featuring segments directed by over two dozen of the world's leading talents in contemporary genre film. Inspired by children’s educational books, the motion picture is comprised of twenty-six individual chapters, each helmed by a different director assigned a letter of the alphabet. The directors were then given free reign in choosing a word to create a story involving death.

Red band trailer for V/H/S.
When a group of petty criminals is hired by a mysterious party to retrieve a rare piece of found footage from a rundown house in the middle of nowhere, they soon realize that the job isn't going to be as easy as they thought. In the living room, a lifeless body holds court before a hub of old television sets, surrounded by stacks upon stacks of VHS tapes. As they search for the right one, they are treated to a seemingly endless number of horrifying videos, each stranger than the last.
Bringing together some of the top filmmakers in the game today, this wickedly conceived horror anthology sends the viewer through a gauntlet of suspense, terror, shock, and downright brutality—instantly distinguishing itself from a sea of lackluster found-footage horror flicks. The diverse and deviously creative minds behind V/H/Sshatter any preconceived notions about the genre, making it feel inventive and captivating once again.
