Lol wow....just because I haven't protested against racist crimes as avidly as you claim to doesn't mean that I'm a racist. I'm not going to stress over what dumb, ignorant people do (black or otherwise) because of their own issues. I don't agree with any of it at all and if I see a problem, I'm going to speak against it. But, there's sooo much more to life :) So congrats, lol, you've successfully argued with a 15 year old girl who isn't fooled by you or what you have to say. This is over =) Byee.
And btw, since this IS a review site, Karate Kid is a great movie everybody :) Cute, funny, and I highly recommend seeing it..that and Grownups (even though this isn't its trailer)

Ok, but even after all of that, that still gives you no room to call me a racist. I do in fact care about what happens to other races just as much as my own, but all I can do is make sure that I, myself, treat everybody equally, teach my kids when I have them to do the same, and spread the msg around me the best I can. And the movie DOES portray truth. It is NOT saying that ALL Chinese people are like that! It's just showing whats goes on in the world. The Chinese who are bullies in the movie can represent any race. Just like Jaden can represent different races. If this movie was made in Africa and used black people as the bullies, I wouldn't feel offended BECAUSE I KNOW THAT IT HAPPENS AND THAT I WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING LIKE THAT. So why should it offend me personally?? Why would it offend anybody who wouldn't and doesn't do that? I understand some people might be upset because they feel they'll get profiled by people because of it, but honestly, 100% honestly, I don't know anyone at this point in my life that would do something like that. I know there are people in the world that would though..
I didn't jump on Jessica (my friend) after I saw the movie, and neither did anyone else. Most of these comments downing the movie are from people who haven't even seen it and are defensive of the original, people feeding off of other's negative opinions who most likely haven't watched the movie either, and those who actually took the time to go watch it and found some faults. & Most of them still had good things to say. Example: http://www.metacritic.com/film/titles/karatekid
Now don't think because of the first few reviews, that I sent you to some site where all of the comments are going to be awesome...just read them please.
& Yes, the truth does hurt....if its something you don't want to hear. But in my opinion a lie hurts worse because either Number 1. You weren't worth the truth or Number 2. Somebody didn't care to get the whole story and look at it from a different point of view.
And you keep mentioning Men in Black. Will Smith was ACTING in that movie. I can see if he said it in real life, I can see if he wrote and produced that movie himself, but he didn't. The two people that wrote the movie are white (Lowell Cunningham and Ed Solomon) As are the 5 people that produced it I believe. One of which is Steven Spielberg. Now because they wrote and produced that movie does that mean they are racists? Because Will Smith said what they wrote for him to say does that make him racist? Because Denzel Washington played Malcolm X in a movie, does that make him Muslim. No. And that's basically what you're saying by writing that. The truth does hurt, but it enrages too.

I think I misread some of what you wrote, so disregard the first part about my friend, but keep everything else. I agree with something in particular you wrote though, you said that black racists justify being racist because they feel they have that right....I think what you said is true....but I'm not like that so I can't speak for them. I can only speak for myself and as myself I loved the movie. I understand why they wouldn't release the movie over there in a way. I've experienced racism second-hand from Asians (Japanese specifically) My brother's girlfriend was Japanese (they met in college in New York) and he proposed to her, but her parents cut it off because they disapproved of the relationship. They never said it was because he was black, but she told us it was and apologized. So I can't relate to you saying that black kids bully asian kids more, because I've never seen or done that. It may be true, but racism exists both ways. And because i'm not racist and I don't think the past justifies racism for a group of people, I focus on both and say its all wrong. Not just focusing on one group. Therefore, like I said, I loved the movie and thats all I have to say about it.

Ok..wow thats a lot to read. I just want to point out a few things: I never claimed that I wasn't racist because my best friend is Chinese, I'm not racist because I'm not. It's dumb and ignorant to think that way & I come from a family who taught me to accept everybody because when it comes down to it, nobody's better than the other person. A movie depicting someone of a different race bullying someone of mine, wouldn't make me change that. And I didn't give you examples of those movies that show black people as the racist majority, because they're 'hood movies' made by black people and I didn't think you'd accept it.. and you're right, I do care about your comments, otherwise I wouldn't have responded. I just liked the movie and it hurt me to see someone who thought of it that way. And Natural Butt Fly?...wow....I just don't appreciate you calling me racist and responding to me on here like I am when I'm not. And if all that is what you think about the movie fine, thats your opinion. I'm just saying that I really liked it.

This is the last thing I have to say about this: Simon, you made so many dumb remarks I don't think I can comment on them all in the time I have on the computer. You're missing the whole point of the movie which is to stand up for what you believe in, and you're turning it into something racist. Jaden didn't hate those kids, nor did they hate him. They ACTED it. Why can't you just see the movie for what it is, a funny, family friendly movie. But you don't. You keep saying over and over again that Will Smith is racist like its your mantra or something. He's in an industry with whites, Asians, Hispanics, etc...multicultural. Do you really think if the movie was coming off as that racist they would've kept quiet about it? No. Because its not. My best friend (who's Chinese) actually went to see the movie and said she loved it. I believe, like you said, that she's in a position to say something honest and believable about the movie? You aren't. And FYI, there are movies with black people as the racist majority, and you know what I say to that as an African American person: IT'S JUST A MOVIE. I think its very funny how you can tell people what they believe, what the movie is about, and how good it is when you haven't from my knowledge produced it, worked with it, or even went to see it. I wish I could change your views, but I can't. If you have nothing better to do than sit here and write comments that aren't hurting anybody or doing anything, continue. I, for the record, am done. But since you want to point out that there are black racists...there are black racists, Just like there are white racists, hispanic racists, asian racists, indian racists.....but I'm not one of them so I don't need to be in this conversation. Conversation over :) All in all, KARATE KID IS AN AMAZING MOVIE, AND I RECOMMEND IT TO ANYBODY. I give it 4 1/2 stars! Going to go see it again with my friends tonight!!! :)

And if you're trying to make the point that if the movie was reversed I.E. an Asian kid moving to the US, going to school, and liking a girl outside of his race (Hispanic, Black, White, etc.) that the same thing would happen....thats not necessarily true. The US is moving forward, inter-racial dating is accepted by the majority here and I've never seen someone beaten up over it (I'm 15 yrs old) I understand that happened in the past, but you have to realize the US is one of the most advanced countries in the world. The movie was portraying truth. Not saying that all Asians are like that, but in China if that (in the movie) were to happen there, the fighting, division, & more would most likely happen too. Maybe in the future that will change, like it did with the US, but right now that does happen. And it probably does here too, but what I'm trying to say is not that much..less and less. AND the movie didn't incite racism towards Asians, I'm African American, and I don't have a problem. My best friend is Chinese. All in all, the movie was awesome and I loved it :) Enough said.

Ok, in the UNITED STATES black kids (or any race of kids) are more likely to be racist to the minority from another country. But this movie was in CHINA, what sense would it make for Jaden to be racist against the majority. And then you call the movie racist. No. The story was great. the acting was amazing, and in my opinion the best movie of 2010 thus far. It's called KARATE KID not KUNG-FU KID, because hello, which title are people more familiar with? Plus, he planned on learning Karate at the beginning. The movie was awesome, and I'm pretty sure the people in my sold out theater agreed. So Simon, suck it up and realize: Nobody cares about your hateful and biased comments, and you're a really sad person to take the time to write out THAT MUCH over this one kid. He's doing way better in his life than yours I bet, and he's very talented.
