Feeling past her prime, 28-year-old Nunoe (Kazue Fukiishi) agrees to marry Shigeru (Kankuro Kudo), an older man she doesn’t even know. In addition to being a WWII veteran missing an arm, she finds he has barely enough money to support himself. However, Shigeru is not without talent. The manga books he writes are artistically successful and devoid of any cutesy sentiment, but when times are tough, is integrity enough to survive on?
