well..

the pirate story has so many direct parallels to the story, you can almost read the Watchmen comic frames with the pirate story captions... it just adds a whole new dimension, a whole "tense" to the story.

The closest thing I could parallel it to would be Mohinder's musings at the beginning of almost every Heroes' episode: his voice ties in directly with the main action of the plot, and serves as a teaser for things to come in the story.

Pirate Story

I read that the story would not be in the actual movie but would be included as extras on the DVD release.

And they said it couldn't be done...

And they said it couldn't be done. I simply cannot wait for this movie.

I only wonder if they'll attempt to work in the bizarre pirate ship sub-plot that was woven into the latter half of the book (the comic-within-the-comic). I didn't get it, so no gripes here if it goes (gotta fit this epic story into just over 2 hours, after all...)
