sighSigh. With all the really interesting post-apocalyptic books out there, this collection of cliches got a freaking Pulitzer Prize? "Dies the Fire", "Davy" ,"Alas Babylon", "Earth Abides" - and we get this...don't get me wrong, it looks interesting as a Movie, but I scanned the book and just didn't see anything there worth bothering to pick it up, nothing that I hadn't seen dozens of times before.

A pattern emerges."Post-apocalyptic" seems to be an oft-recurring theme in the past few years. This film easily looks to be the most dour of all of them.

Read the bookI read the book and I don't know if I can say I liked or enjoyed it as much as I appreciated and admired it, but I have no idea how the movie is going to turn out in comparison. It won't be "fun" by any means.

looking forwardNever just a film by it's trailer. They need to sell this movie and an action oriented trailer will do just that. If you have seen The Proposition you know this is in damn good hands. Can't wait!

Book b4 MovieWrong! It's better to read the book first than watching the movie. Reason: that way you can always know what they missed, did wrong, or timed a scene too short or long. Trust me.

the end of the film is the end of the road :)I've not read the book... debating whether I should wait and watch the film first or vice versa.
Sometimes it's actually better to watch the film first... you know, to save the best for last.
Either way this looks awesome.

Not WilhelmThat's not the Wilhelm scream at the 2:03 mark, if that is what you were referencing. That is the legendary Screams 3; Man, Gut-wrenching Scream And Fall Into Distance.
