The BeaverI wouldn’t be surprised if most people blame Mel Gibson for this week’s #1 downer The Beaver: Mel hasn’t exactly been blazing a positive trail on the PR highway lately, but to blame Gibson entirely, would be a mistake. May I suggest a different course of action? Jodie Foster. Doesn’t it stand to reason that as director and co-star, Foster deserves the most blame? Whether it’s Gibson, Foster or someone else... one thing is clear: The Beaver is, hands down the most depressing film of 2011 (to date.)

too badIt is too bad that people let their views get in the way. This looks good enough. I know people hate Mel Gibson, but he is a solid actor. I hate, cannot stand, Sean Penn and his political views. But, damn, the man can act. I also agree with Gerest. I do not agree with what Mel has done, but come on.

idk...i'm with everyone on not liking the bigotry that he was known for; however, i'm also a big believer in redemption. This does look like an honest attempt at a serious movie about finding one's true self. I can only hope that this role helped him see the path he was heading and bring him back on track.
