trek 2The Dark knight works because all modern versions of batman come from Frank miller's Dark Knight Returns, but Star Trek IS Star Trek. It wasnt the colon that turned us off of Trek, it was the non-event that the films had become. Basicly cheap little movie-length tv episodes we paid to see in theatres. Especially in the Berman era. You cannot take Star Trek out of the title. And as for all the people *****ing about a redo of Khan and wanting something new, then what the hell are they doing watching something called Star Trek with characters called Kirk and Spock? Nolan's take on the Joker was awesome, even tho people *****ed, at first, that you could not do better than Nicholson's version, and that it should be left alone. Would love to see the Klingons find Khan and make him their leader.
