Marmaduke

Trailer

Upscale Font Trailer for Marmaduke.

Brad Anderson created the decades-running newspaper comic strip, about a mischievous Great Dane who lives with the Winslow family, in 1954. The big dog then appeared in several animated episodes of "Heathcliff" and "Garfield and Friends."

Marmaduke ...
What happended to movies like "Homeward Bound" where the animals didn't have to move their lips, and we just heard their thoughts ... I miss those type of animal movies, where the characters were still animals, not people in animal suits

Funnypages get animated...damn you Lucas
Cartoons, comicsbooks and the funny pages...the new formula for "cha ching" in Hollyweird;least we forget the other equation here sex, animals and anything cute enough to slap a logo on also works too.

dance sequence
Well, there was a huge CGI dance sequence in the trailer for similar K9 feature "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" (shoot me for seeing that one) and it didn't end up in the movie (not that the lack of it made it any better)
So let's hope this one's also just a gimmick ...

Why?
With today's technology available in movies, I would be more than interested in watching cute animals talking. But why do they always have to be so downright annoying and stereotypical? Why can't they be animal characters without an overdose of human characteristics? Why do all the voices in animation and the like have to be just celebrity names who have no real good voice acting abilities? Sure Keifer Sutherland has probably the best voice (of this bunch) for this type of film, but can't they go for actual voice actors instead? Couldn't they make an animal dance sequence that was funny because of its awkwardness instead of it being a full overblown CGI sequence? It's just so pathetic that the makers of these can't get outside their own body to make something actually revolving around animals and instead it's 99% human characters that just happen to be animals. Ugh.

THE NEXT AVITAR!!!!!
hey you guys don't understand. this is a very original brilliant story where a dog can't behave himself and upsets the family, starring Owen Wilson. oh and there is also a surfing and talking dog. and dont forget the dance number. also THE GEORGE LOPEZ is costarring!!! thats right, 2 time oscar nominee George Lopez is playing a sassy latino voice character for an animal. you better lookout Daniel Day Lewis! Yes i believe this dark comedy is box office gold. DISPUTE ME!

ps. it was sarcasm

Marmaduke
There are very few Owen Wilson movies that are any good...and most of those are because the other actors and directors save it.
by tidalwarrior | March 26, 2010, 9:20AM
why owen wilson!?
When did this "Owen Wilson is Maramaduke" crap start? He doesn't even try to change his voice a little bit. Why doesn't he just dress up in a dog costume? Movie looks stupid.
by lecomlaxer | March 26, 2010, 7:20AM
awful
this looks so terrible

...
Yeeeah the trailer should of ended with the gopher bit. It was the only thing that made me laugh and just knowing theres a cheesy animated dance scene in the movie ensures i wont be going to see it
