gimmie a break willya, its not a remake of the raid, its not a remake of judge dredd, its a movie based on a UK comic, it looks like it might be good, I don't know because I only saw a short trailer like you. Whinerboys and girls dont go see it, you wont like a new scifi action movie in 3D,wait for a new disney movie.

I wouldn't call this a remake. It looks like someone actually read the UK comic and decided a real Judge Dredd movie would be worth a try. Everyone complaining and crying about it, after watching a short trailer, should make every effort NOT to go see the whole film, it will be a waste of time, you wont enjoy a new sci-fi action movie in 3D....their should be a good Disney movie out there for you!!

As far as REMAKES are concerned, this (Dredd) and Total Recall BOTH look good and I'm really looking forward to viewing them.

Funny how Dredd was Stallone and Total Recall was Schwarzeneggers, BOTH were 80s Icons... yet I really feel that these two NEW looks at each story or character will be better than the firsts.

Might be a blast from the past for you young pups, but would anyone care to comment about how the raid redemption already ripped off Bruce Lee's 1972 Game of Death? Oh my bad, the raid redemption was an original story-line where they were the first to fight through an multi-story enemy encampment. Haha chill out, the special effects look amazing for the Dredd reboot. IMHO Promethius was an epic tale that just might reboot the Alien series, with a storyline that didn't tread to closely to the Alien series I thought that it was a treat in the Cinemas.

This is a new movie adaptation of a comic character who first appeared in 1977. This has NOTHING to do with the 94 Stallone movie. Hollywood f**ked that up. This is an independant movie and is NOT made by hollywood. This will be R rated (18 in the UK) and will not feature on kids happy meals.

The Stallone film is NOT the origin of this character. Stallone was sh*t as Dredd.

Oh, and this was filmed a year before the "Raid" even started filming!

ok first they redo Total Recall and now Judge Dredd, Hollywood has stopped coming up with new Ideas. Is it me or does he even sound like Stallone did when he was Dredd?

I was lucky enough to see The Raid in theaters and to say it was action-packed would be an understatement. It was simply the best action movie of the year. Period.
I don't think Dredd is a ripoff or anything of The Raid. It's just the main bad guys happen to live in a multi-story building base like that of The Raid and the Judges have to infiltrate it.
It's just because The Raid is so new that it's getting comparisons to Dredd. As with any movie where the good guys have to break into the main bosses lair of choice, whether it be a cave, a mansion with hi-tech security, a castle over in Europe, a glass pyramid ala Watchmen, or a multi-story building, it's gonna be pretty much the same plot-wise.
Good guys find out where bad guy is, break in, bad guys die, good guys die, good guys win. The end.

i had a feeling they will make a US version of The Raid, but not this soon :P
