Ip Man 2

As its been cited by others, watch the first Ip Man. I have been raised on many a martial arts movies and still watch them all the time. There are some really fun ones, mediocre ones, and great ones. The first Ip Man is a true masterpiece and was so much fun to watch.

Are you serious, why would they put this one to threatres and not the first one. I've seen both and I think the first one in drama, action & martial arts crushes the second one.

There aren't too many movies that impress me and the FIRST IP MAN (or I should say Donnie Yens IP Man) is up there with Jet Li's FIST OF LEGEND, making it one of the best martial arts movie since any of Bruce Lee movies.

This second one is boring and not well laid out riding the coat tails of the first one. Though to give credit where credit is due in IP MAN 2 the fight scene between Sammo Hung & Donnie Yen is superb... short but superb...but thats about it.

It figures that the U.S. would only put out the okay IP MAN 2, cause if they put the first IP MAN out in theatres then it would be successful and everyone would want more martial arts films. And then Asian actors might be big in the U.S. again. There has been anything really since Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon --- and no Ninja Assassin doesn't count (yeeesh)

im from hong kong myself so it was natural that i found out about the first ip man and the second. But i dont know how often one would discover this series if you were lets say an American. Are they really going to put this movie in the movie theaters in USA instead of going straight to DVD? I wish many of you will watch it

I can't wait to see this one. If you have not seen the first Ip Man, do yourself a favor and check it out.
