I Am David is adapted from Anne Holm's internationally acclaimed novel "North to Freedom." I Am David

I've recenntly read the novel 'I am David' and i must say that i have a question. There is no letter in the book so why is there one in the film? No, the book was much better! The movie was a little cropped version of the most overwhelming novel in my time!!
