Joanne Schwartzbaum, a stressed-out mom from Brooklyn is (or is she?) abducted by aliens and returned to her home. A series of bizarre coincidences leads her to join forces with another supposed abductee, Abraham, an immigrant from the Ivory Coast who believes in Joanne’s story. As the plot quickly thickens, Strugatz’s light touch allows the characters to grow and breathe, revealing a story more about family and our responsibility to our fellow man than about aliens and UFO’s.
