Sally (Bailee Madison), a lonely, introverted child, has just arrived at the 19th century mansion her father (Guy Pearce) and his girlfriend (Katie Holmes) are restoring. While exploring the sprawling estate, Sally discovers a hidden , long-undisturbed basement. Unwittingly, she unleashes a race of malevolent, dark-dwelling creatures who intend to drag her and her family down into the mansion's bottomless depths.

Find the original you guys

The original came out is 1973, a made for TV movie starring Karen Black, as a young lady living alone n an isolated farmhouse, being attacked by tiny demonic creatures that want to steal her away. Bothered me for years. Can't wait for this remake.

Darkness Falls

Why oh why do I have a feeling that the whole "the light, the light and the dark" thing reminds me of the failure that was Darkness Falls? I'm sure it will be great because of the director... but until I actually watch it or read reviews, I'll remain a skeptic.

This isnt a ghost horror in any respect.
It s about demons and ghouls.
Nothing whatsoever like "The Others" ... which to be frank is not a modern classic at all.
Watch it again, it isnt even as good as The Sixth Sense.
Really strange comment, but each to his own.

Bad, then good

I felt that after the initial tension build-up, they drop the ball a little by just getting into the movie stuff. But the last half of the trailer looks nailbiting. Ghost horrors usually go one of two ways: scary or just over the top. This looks like it will follow in the steps of modern classic like The Others.
