AftershockUpon first glance, Feng Xiaogang’s impressive Aftershock appears to be a disaster movie, along the lines of a Michael Bay production... minus the explosions and booming soundtrack. And despite a chilling depiction of the devastating 1976 Tangshan earthquake, Aftershock reveals itself as a splendid story of life, loyalty and sacrifice.
