Ten-year-old Denisa lives in a makeshift community outside of a Polish town. She is, in some respects, an outcast in her Roma village largely due to an inability to talk that resulted from her severe hearing loss. But one day while digging in the trash for toys, she discovers a Bollywood DVD that will change her life forever. As she and her friends watch the DVD, mesmerized by the music, dancing and costumes, their complicated and often sad realities turn into an enchanted Bollywood stage with Denisa as the star.
