The Accountant Trailer (2016)
Trailer for The Accountant.
Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck) is a math savant with more affinity for numbers than people. Behind the cover of a small-town CPA office, he works as a freelance accountant for some of the world’s most dangerous criminal organizations. With the Treasury Department’s Crime Enforcement Division, run by Ray King (J.K. Simmons), starting to close in, Christian takes on a legitimate client: a state-of-the-art robotics company where an accounting clerk (Anna Kendrick) has discovered a discrepancy involving millions of dollars. But as Christian un-cooks the books and gets closer to the truth, it is the body count that starts to rise.
Director Gavin O'Connor is not someone I was familiar with, but he has actually been the Director for quite a few good movies:
Pride and Glory (2008)
Jane Got A Gun (2016)
The screenplay for this film was featured on the Blacklist back in 2011. The Blacklist is a list of the "most liked" unmade scripts of the year.
Wow, I was not expecting that from this trailer.
Taking a break from being Batman, Ben Affleck steps into this serious role where he plays a math genius. Quite the change from playing billionaire Bruce Wayne. I love this move on his part. I am sure he has his pick of the litter when it comes to scripts and he must have chose this one for a reason. A lot of actors end up getting typecast and stuck in one genre, like being a superhero, but Ben looks to prove he still has the acting chops and range to cover most any roles...well he has stayed clear of comedy.
This trailer does an excellent job at setting the mood throughout. We get a very intense feeling with the beginning and a young Chris in the car with his Father and the rain pouring down and the windshield wipers swooshing.
And, what this trailer does best is not divulging too much of the film, yet making me want to yearn for more!
