The Losers is set against events surrounding and including the War on Terror. Originally a Special Forces team integrated with the Central Intelligence Agency. In the 90s, the Losers were betrayed by their handler, Max, and left for dead following the conclusion of their operation. Eager for revenge and the opportunity to remove their names from a secret CIA death list, the Losers regroup and conduct covert operations against the CIA and its interests, uncovering startling operations spearheaded by the enigmatic Max, whose influence within the CIA and U.S. government is unparalleled.-----Clay (Jeffrey Dean Morgan - Operational Control), Pooch (Columbus Short - Transport And Heavy Weapons), Cougar (Oscar Jaenada - Long-Range Eliminations), Jensen (Chris Evans - Comms And Tech) and Roque (Idris Elba - Demo And Tactical) are a special forces black ops team in Bolivia on the trail of a Drug Baron. They send coordinates to HQ for an airstrike on the Baron's compound - but suddenly a bus load of young kids, being used as drug mules, are driven in through the gates. They call off the air strike, but are told its still going ahead, so they break the transmitter - only for a voice from HQ called Max (Jason Patric) to tell them that was very foolish - and the strike will happen anyway. They hurry into the compound, kill all the guards, rescue the kids - and kill the Drug Baron. They make it out, in the school bus, just as the airstrike hits. They load the kids onto their chopper ride home - when suddenly Max the voice tells the fighter pilot that the chopper is the target. It is taken out - killing everyone on board. They suddenly realise that someone wants them dead, so drop their dog tags into the wreckage. Back home in a government cover-up, they are announced as rogue agents, and their families are not offered a proper military funeral service.Hiding out in Bolivia, Clay is trailed by a young lady who he takes back to his room. They get into a bit of a fight when it seems she knows more about his team than she is letting on. It turns out that this lady, Aisha (Zoe Saldana), knows a way to get to Max.After a lot of deliberating with his team, they agree to her plan. They are taken back home to New Mexico, hiding in coffins, and plan their next move. First they hijack an EMT chopper, fire off the transponder, and give it a new coat of paint. We meet Max about this time, in Dubai who is negotiating a deal with an Indian team for "snooks" - seismic bombs that can make an entire island implode on itself. He throws an engineer off a roof, prompting the others to be more negotiable on the terms.Back in the US, the armored convoy said to be carrying Max is the target. Clay and Roque wait in a beat up old car as it passes. First, Cougar takes out the wheels of a lead vehicle. The convoy stops and the guards form a perimeter. Clay fires in a smoke grenade, and then Roque detonates a wireless device they fired onto a vehicle door.Pooch and Aisha fly in on the chopper with a huge magnet, and pick up Max's truck. Jensen, as a hot dog seller, fires a metal web against the back doors to lock them in place. Wade (Holt McCallany), Max's right hand man, climbs onto the 50 to try and bring down the chopper, but fails. When The Losers open the armored vehicle back on base, they take out the guards inside with sleeper darts - but don't find Max. Instead it's a security hard drive by the "Goliath" mega firm. Although they feel double crossed by Aisha and tempers flare, they decide to find out what is on the hard drive, hoping it can bring down Max and clear their names. First they need to hack into it.Jensen breaks into the Goliath HQ posing as a courier. He quickly changes in the elevator, then enters the office of a distracted HR rep to 'upgrade the firewall'. He steals the encryption key they use, but is soon chased by securty guards to a windowed room next to the elevators. After a stand off, the guards are downed by Cougar - in a skyscraper a fair distance away.Back at the base, they find out that the hard drive is a kind of electronic credit card for super villains holding all of Max's money. A list of frequent IP addresses are listed - including one they trace to the Los Angeles pier, but there are also some accountancy errors. Clay and Aisha leave the boys to it and hop back into bed together. Aisha keeps up with questions about the Drug Baron from the first scene.Jensen tracks a missing $4million to the Drug Baron - who has a daughter ... Aisha. As they barge into Clay's room, Aisha picks up 2 weapons. She shoots Jensen in the arm then dives into the bathroom as The Losers pepper the walls with gunfire. They kick down the door to see she has escaped out the window. They break into a supermarket to patch up Clay, but continue to go ahead with the mission to take out Max - hoping to find some info on the servers at the pier to clear their names. The team get into action and plan their attack. In LA, Jensen scales the pier hanger building and opens the doors for Clay and Roque. Inside Roque summons Clay over to an open container. Soon enough outside, Pooch, the driver, is surrounded and surrenders and Cougar the sniper is cornered. Jensen jumps into the building meant to house the server and is captured. It's a trap. Meanwhile, the container is full of money - and Roque knocks Clay cold out.Max backs down on his deal with the Indian engineers - he'll keep the money, and in return for not killing them he wants them to arm the first snook. The engineer gets his hands dirty, and is shot in the head anyway. At dawn Clay is bound and taken away by car, while the 3 others are about to be executed. Pooch is shot in both legs. Suddenly Aisha is back on the scene with an RPG. The 3 fight against the guards, while this gives an incentive to Clay to knock out his captors and the car crashes against something.Clay admits that he killed Aisha'a dad, but they decide to leave all those emotions until the end. After a huge firefight, most of Max's men are killed. Clay chases Roque who has boarded Max's private jet with the money. They fight and Clay is kicked out, but not before blinding the traitor in one eye.Wade gets on the Ducati to take out Clay and reach the plane. Meanwhile, Cougar has somehow found himself on top of a suspended container high in the air. He takes aim and shoots the bike's fuel tank - it explodes sending Wade into the jet engines, and the flaming bike into the plane's cockpit. Burning money rains down, as Clay dives out the way.Clay spies Max making a getaway up a crane. He follows, and shoots at the chopper meant to be his ride which disappears. Max has the pressure detonator for the armed snook in his hand. Clay shoots him in the arm anyway. Then Max throws it into the water - Clay dives in after it to stop the seismic explosion. Max, somehow, gets away. (He makes it onto a bus, where he is fleeced by some mean looking Latinos). At the end, the team break Pooch into the hospital for the birth of his child - a healthy baby boy - and blames the traffic for his delay.Later, they attend Jensen's niece's soccer match - where he picks a fight with a very butch female referee.JT (HowDoesTheMovieEnd.com)
