The film examines the relationship between Tomer (Tomer Heymann) and Andreas (Andreas Merk). While Tomers gaze often lingers worshipfully on Andreass eyes and lips, the real anchor in the film is Noa (Noa Heymann), the directors intensely Israeli mother. I Shot my Love looks at Israeli-German relations and at generational conflicts within contemporary Israeli life through the prism of this highly intimate love story.
The story itself is quite simple: homosexual director who is up for the premiere of his new film in the German capital, meets a young German dancer in a popular Berlin nightclub. They fall in love and the dancer follows the filmmaker to Israel, where he met his mother.
