  • A sheep-rancher's son aspires to win a music conservatory scholarship, but to apply he needs musicians who can play his music. Circumstances lead him to form a band out of prison inmates.
  • Tommy was born and raised on a rocky, drought-ridden sheep station inthemiddle of the Australian Outback. He works at the station and does allhecan to appease his demanding father but in his heart wants to be a greatmusician. That all changes when Tommy meets his new classmate Kat, aboldand brash beauty, who at first doesn't notice him at all. As Tommy triesdesperately to get her attention his antics cause him to fall into hotwaterwith the local police. He luckily escapes jail and chooses to docommunityservice at the nearby prison to stay out of trouble. Soon the stakes forTommy are raised when his music teacher and mentor lands him an auditionforthe elite music conservatorium. Against all odds, Tommy gains theaffectionsof Kat, finds a way to reconcile with his father and conducts theconcert ofhis life.
