The story of a Vietnamese-American family with a loving, but strict Father whose rigid expectations threaten to ruin the ambitions of his children. His son, Ty, is a collegiate who refuses to be the "model minority" his father would like. His daughter, Linh, has kept her fiance's Buddhist background a secret, so as to not offend her Catholic father.Ty's brother, Dinh, is a sports car enthusiast who has a girlfriend that no one has ever met. Next door neighbor Bill is a Vietnam vet who doesn't like yard work but who gives Ty's father some very sage advice.
