Trailer for Swiss Army Man.
Hank, a hopeless man stranded in the wild, discovers a mysterious dead body. Together the two embark on an epic journey to get home. As Hank realizes the body is the key to his survival, this once-suicidal man is forced to convince a dead body that life is worth living.
This will be the first time Directors Dan Kwan & Daniel Scheinert take on a feature film. All of their previous work has been short films.
Most of the movie was filmed in the Bay Area forests near Half Moon Bay, CA.
Daniel Radcliffe (26 years old) is 5 years younger than Paul Dano (31 years old).
To say this film is unique is an understatement.
While watching the opening scene of the trailer with Paul Dano's character Hank trying to hang himself and then all the sudden a person appears on the beach, you are thinking that this is going to be a serious drama...a la Cast Away. But then Hank's rope miraculously breaks and he approaches Manny, who will later become his "Wilson". Upon checking to see if Manny is okay, the dead corpse farts which lets us know that this film is going to be something completely different.
I loved this trailer and how it showed what a magical adventure Hank embarks on with his corpse Manny in an effort to return home and what the human mind can do when trapped on deserted island alone. As with the comparison I gave above, the film has a Cast Away feel which then meets Weekend at Bernie's.
