Foreign trailer for Ringing in Their Ears.

It’s a week before the biggest concert ever by Shinsei Kamattechan, an underground band that is now going big time. Their new label wants them to become more mainstream, their lead singer is getting flakier by the minute, and their manager is caught in the middle. So far, so familiar. But then the movie begins to move its attention out in concentric waves of focus. Michiko is a high school student whose grades are bombing because all she wants to do is become a championship shogi player. Kaori is a single mom desperate to connect to her son, Ryota. And Ryota, in turn, is trapped in a kindergarten where the teachers just don’t understand him and want him expelled.
