In the afterglow of tragedy, fourteen year old Maddie Clifford's family is falling apart. Her mother and father have separated, leaving Maddie alone to wrestle with haunting memories from her childhood. She decides to take action by having sex with several local neighborhood boys. What seems like a cry for help transforms into an elaborate plan involving urine, insulin syringes, and an ill-fated rabbit. As Maddie finds happiness in a reality of her own creation, the consequences of her traumatized mind begin to have a profound affect on everyone surrounding her.
