Trailer for Life After Death.
Twenty years after Rwanda’s horrific genocide, 20-somethings Kwasa and his best pal, Fils, have very different approaches to life in Kigali. Fils is anxious to take some courses and get a trade, while Kwasa seems positively allergic to good jobs. So when wealthy Texan do-gooders Dave and Suzette come across Kwasa, he happily accepts their Christian guidance and generous help. Suzette especially walks the Good Word walk, visiting Kwasa often, finding him a new home and diligently encouraging him towards positive life choices. But as her young charge finds two more deep-pocketed American sponsors, Kwasa’s past starts to trip him up. Is he a damaged young man struggling under the weight of traumatic memories? Or a hustler who sees a chance to milk First World kindness for all he can? This completely fresh look at Rwanda’s next chapter bravely stirs humour into a provocative examination of aid and the aided.
