Into the Forest Trailer (2016)

Trailer for Into the Forest.

In the not too distant future, two young women who live in a remote ancient forest discover the world around them is on the brink of an apocalypse. Informed only by rumor, they fight intruders, disease, loneliness & starvation.

The film premiered in the Special Presentation section at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival on September 12, 2015. A24 and DirecTV Cinema then acquired U.S distribution rights to the film which will actually premiere on DirecTV before hitting theaters. In December, the film was announced as part of TIFF's annual Canada's Top Ten screening series of the ten best Canadian films of the year.

The film will hit theaters on July 22nd, almost a year after it hit the film festival circuit. It went to 7 different film festivals: Toronto International Film Festival, Vancouver International Film Festival, Busan International Film Festival, Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival, Istanbul Independent Film Festival, Imagine Film Festival, and Chicago Critics Film Festival.

The horror genre is a particular one. It has some of the most die-hard fans...and I am not one of them. Don't get me wrong, there are some horror films which I think are great, but this kind of movie just does not do anything for me.

I do not think this trailer comes across scary enough and does not give the feeling of a suspenseful edge on your seat scarefest. This is not the movie for me and I will be skipping this one, but it may be for you...
